Pakt’s story
Their journey started in 2017 for a single reason: to restore a cult travel bag. Industrial designer Malcolm Fontier’s Getaway bag had been out of circulation for many years before it was used in the 2016 documentary, Minimalism, as the bag of choice for Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus, better known as The Minimalists.
After receiving hundreds of requests to put it back on the market, Malcolm and The Minimalists agreed to work together on a new, updated version of the bag. One wildly successful crowdfunding initiative, a couple of round-the-world journeys, and thousands of happy (and vocal!) supporters later, they had too much fun to quit.
So, Pakt was formally born as of the spring of 2018. Their goal is to develop innovative and refined, conscientious travel accessories for a growing group of environmentally-conscious travelers. They’re working to collaborate with other like-minded companies, makers, and an amazing community as much as possible.
As environmentally-friendly travelers, they aim to create and manufacture high-quality goods without risking the welfare of fellow humans or the earth. That is why they are committed to managing the global supply chain to mitigate the impact.
