Cahuita National Park Tour. Before cruising through the tropical Tortuguero Canals in a covered boat to a banana plantation and Cahuita National Park, take a brief peek at Puerto Limon from a panoramic vantage. Before returning to your port, have a nature walk with your guide.
Full-Day Cahuita National Park Tour from Puerto Limon
- Puerto Limon. Enjoy a short city tour of Limon’s town, during which your guide will discuss some of the port’s culture and history. You’ll also go to a lookout, which is a fantastic place to get a panoramic view of the town and the ship docks.
- Tortuguero Canal. In a covered boat, cruise for one and a half hours through the Tortuguero Canals. Your tour guide will point out local flora and animals, as well as educate you on the region’s diverse biodiversity.
- Frutería El Almendro. Learn more about tropical plants and the fruits that they produce. Before continuing on to Cahuita National Park, see the genuine plants and trees and enjoy some of the wonderful fruits at a rustic fruit stand. If you’re in the mood for some retail therapy, stop into the adjacent souvenir shop.
- Finca Comendador. Bananas are an important element of the Costa Rican economy and a major source of income in Puerto Limon. Stop by Chiquita’s banana farm to learn about how the fruit is grown, harvested, and shipped. Please note that due to rules, we will not be permitted to enter the processing factory.
- Cahuita National Park. With your guide, do a 1-hour trek in the lovely Cahuita National Park. You’ll get the opportunity to observe even more animals and flora. You may also enjoy the beach (if the weather is favorable), which runs parallel to the route.
- Mas X Menos. A quick visit to a local grocery shop, where you may learn about the typical cost of living in Puerto Limon, Costa Rica, and buy Costa Rican coffee or other items at reasonable costs.
