A magnificent view of the Sofia from above can be seen from the top of the Vitosha Mountains. But the view from the air while paragliding Sofia is even more spectacular.
Goli Peak is the place where you will start flying in tandem with your pilot instructor. It’ll take 40-50 minutes to get there, followed by a 15-minute walk. Landing is in the meadows around Dragalevtsi.
The plane ride itself takes about 10–30 minutes, depending on the weather conditions.
Paragliding Sofia is a recreational and competitive adventure sport for paragliders: lightweight, free-flying, foot-launched gliders with no fixed primary structure. The pilot sits in a saddle suspended below a fabric wing composed of a large number of intertwined puzzled cells.
The design of the wing is formed by the suspension surfaces, the tension of the air reaching the openings in the front of the plane, and the aerodynamic forces of the air flowing outwards.
Although the engine is not used, the paraglider’s flight can last several hours and cross several hundreds of kilometers, over 1-2 hours of journeys, covering several tens of kilometers. The Paragliding Sofia instructor will skillfully achieve height, frequently rising to an elevation of a few thousand meters.
